Ubisoft announces that Assassin's Creed has sold 2.5 million copies

And for the record - that's a lot; more than I ever expected. And according to Ubisoft, it greatly surpasses what they expected as well. The company expects to sell about 5 million by the end of the fiscal year in March of 2008, and in my opinion I doubt they can manage to do so.

Smash Bros. Brawl update - Mario Circuit

Today a new stage was announced that is taken from the Mario Kart series. It doesn't seem to be from a particular game, though if it's anything it resembles the figure-8 circuit from Mario Kart DS for the Nintendo DS. Because most of the characters that were playable in the series are playable in this game, you'll just see Shy Guys racing on the court. Shy Guys were playable in Mario Kart DS, but only on multiplayer for people who didn't have the game.

IGN AU review - Link's Crossbow Training

"Link’s Crossbow Training is certainly competent, but it’s also pretty bland, and very much the main attraction in the pack – the Zapper works moderately well, but you’re probably going to get your best scores without it. For AU $49.95 (as compared to US $19.99 in the states, which is much better value) we’re hard pressed to recommend it, especially since there’s no simultaneous multiplayer. That said, if you live in a house with a number of Zelda-loving siblings or housemates, we can definitely see the appeal in attempting to beat each others’ points scores – both in Score Attack (across three levels) and in Practice, where you can notch up a score for each individual level. Nothing like seeing your Mii proudly proclaiming household dominance. Still, more miss than hit."

Final grade - 6.5

Wifi connection announced for Wii Chess

Nintendo just announced that they're adding Wifi functionality to their upcoming casual title Wii Chess for, you guessed it - the Wii. Multiplayer chess on wifi has been seen in the Nintendo DS video game Clubhouse Games, which also included about 30 other games, so I it'll be hard to convince me to buy this title!

Blizzard's next game not related to WoW

As you probably know by now, Activision and Blizzard recently merged just a few days ago. As expected, they've announced a new massive multiplayer online game for PC, and give or take it's not related to World of Warcraft. They also confirmed that the game will not be similar to anything that the companies' ever done before, but they're probably implying in terms of the game's theme. Obviously when more news of this mysterious title is announced, I'll report on it.
